A dreamer doesn’t see the world
The way it is
They see the possibilities
Of what it could be
They look at it from every side
Plotting their course
To find the way to change it
Into what they see
They put blinders to despair
And hold to hope
They climb even when tired and hurt
Especially when tired and hurt
When others laugh at them
Tell them it’s folly
A dreamer hurts, but never stops dreaming
Even if it makes their perception flicker
They plow ahead
Making the sacrifices most would never
Because their dream is all they are
And no loss is too great a price to pay
And in the end
When they either achieve their dreams
Forcing them into reality
Through their sheet will
Or fail completely
Realizing the impossibility
And falling to that crushing weight
Men call despair
They go back to sleep
To heal from the never ending fire
Which fuels them as it burns at both ends
And they dream again
No matter how many times they wake
And their dream ends
They will dream again
Because that is what dreamers do
