Dream World

A world of slumber

Another World lies beneath my sleep

Very revealing and very deep

Dream of water taking me under

Unable to wake from a tranquil deep slumber

Lands so far I fear and cry

A Dream so horrible I feel I die

Is this my unconscious mind awake?

Or is it my senses which partake?

Lying awake drawing surrealism

With chaste thoughts of real puritanism

I wish I could say I dream these thoughts

But I really have other ideas I’d naught

Am I escaping into another world

Or are these thoughts in my head so bold

Fires burn as I aspire

Extinguish my soul as to retire

Seas that reach no shore

No dream I can’t just ignore.

Dreams so strange I can’t make sense

Some are good and others utter nonsense

Do not try to understand all of your dreams

Only the ones which seem

To be the most attainable

Not those you deem regrettable.
