Dream of Winter

I want snow

Dream of Winter

I dream of a night without dawn

One where blizzards and snowstorms and meteor showers

Make it suffocatingly bright.

I dream of black days after black days

Strung together with moonlight

As delicious as popcorn balls

And planetary light as fat and round

As ornaments strung up on a pine.

The dream of dark nights whispers to me

On the cold, damp wind whistling through

Cracks in the windows

And the gaps of deciduous trees.

Is there a promise on the snow flurrying about?

Am I discerning words that say the dark night will come

And bring bitter cold, blazing stars, and burning fires?

Or is the wind just muttering again?

Dreaming just like me?

Each line of this was amazing, I can’t pick a favourite. It was so alluring start to finish!
