Our mind is a battlefield.
There are skirmishes taking place right now, at this very moment, in the form of guilt, shame, depression, and temptation. The enemy is expert level in corrupting our innermost being ,maybe because he's been doing it for so long or maybe it's because he knows he can exploit our free will. There is nothing sacred to him, whether it's in a church or a soul. His goal is to lure you away from God and he will do whatever it takes.
He wrote the book on triggers. If he can guilt you back into something that is harmful to you-whether it's physically, morally, emotionally or spiritually, he will do it with great pleasure. Your downfall is his triumph. Your pain is his euphoria. He will plant things in your mind like " it's ok" or " just this once, this is the last time". He is cunning, he has tools in his toolbox that you've never even dreamed of and he's not afraid to use them.
And he's waiting.
But if you remain steadfast in your faith and emotional strength, you can withstand the winds of war and cannot be washed out to the sea of despair.
Put on the Armor of God.
Be strong. Be courageous. Be fearless in the face of Fear. Know your triggers and weaknesses. Guard your mind and guard your heart. The other day at work, someone said " swords out, shields up" and they had no idea what it signified, and I smiled. The sword is the Holy Spirit, the shield is Faith. Salvation is the helmet, Truth is the waistband, Righteousness is the breastplate and the sandals are Peace.
You are stronger than you know, you are an indomitable spirit, an unstoppable force. The enemy knows you are too.
Hold on.
Don't give up.
Don't give in.
You were made for such days as these, and we know how this story ends.
We win.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
Ephesians 6:10-13 NKJV
“But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
I Peter 5:10-11 NKJV
