Down On The Farm

Back and Pecking Butt

By Joseph D HamiltonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

The African Safari was nice for the chickens

They traveled the Sahara with ease

But when they ran out of beer they knew it was time

To return home their thirst to appease

Everything had been quiet down on the farm

The goat was teaching yoga and found he could sing

Things were finally coming together and he found love

When he and the farmer had begun a summer fling.

Then all at once, the peace was shattered

The noise of hoofbeats is all that was heard

They all knew in a moment that the end was near

What was coming next would be totally absurd

Beer cans went everywhere with the tumult of clucking

Blinded by feathers and a big cloud of dust

The animals ran for shelter they were afraid

The goats heart withered with his summertime lust

The Farmer at the barn was not expecting a thing

When the horse burst out of that ominous cloud

He was kicking and screaming to escape from a crowd

His cart was full of chickens all drunken and loud.

The Chickens had returned to the quiet little farm

With hijinx, shinanigans, and malarkey to spare

Making a grand entrance with a special type of charm

Announcing their arrival with their own unique flare.
