This is for Mikeydred's Truly July Challenge. Read the requirements here and hop aboard!

Today's the day for a little laissez faire - it's Stick Your Tongue Out day, and, as you may well guess, a day that marks a bit of irreverence.

While mutual respect is key, there are times when going against the grain and sticking one's tongue out is allowable, and sometimes necessary. It's all about balance.

We can be off-key with close friends, in creative settings or in casual conversations if you and your conversation partner have established trust.

It's best to keep that tongue in when situations are more serious, professional or when you don't know owyour conversation partner well.

So, do stick that tongue out once in a while - with a little thought.

Enjoy this little tritina.

Quick tongue goes out when it knows

Others like it in the room

In a place of gentle calm

Sharp tongue goes out when it's calm

When beauteous souls so well it knows

When there is knowledge room

Witty tongue in when it knows

Aura serious in the  room

When words are no longer calm

Tongue goes out when it knows the room and the scene is calm.
