Don't Loose Hope

Even when the hopelessness feels overwhelming

By Abi Rose TravisPublished about 15 hours ago β€’ 1 min read

She waits where shadows softly cling

Her heart a bird with broken wings

She loves him deep beyond her name

Yet fate has played a different game

He speaks in warmth, his eyes half bright

Like dawn that battles dying night

She feels his heart might call her near

But lives in doubt and quiet fear

For whispered walls and unseen ties

Have tangled truth in soft disguise

The world conspires to hold apart

Two souls that share a single heart

Each meeting bids her soul to soar

Each parting cuts a little more

She fears the silence when they part

The echo left within her heart

To lose him, pain beyond her breath

To stay away would be a death

So though she trembles through anxiety

she hides her pain in quiet variety
