Don't Just Wait

Remaining productive while waiting for love

Days never seem to want to go by,

Yet life can go away in a blink of an eye.

All the time that you spend waiting,

Sitting still and vacillating ,

You could be out accomplishing much,

Like giving someone a warm, gentle touch.

So don't wait for me so idlely;

If we are meant to be we'll be.

Don't you waste your life away

Anticipating being with me someday.

Still, wait for me- don't find another

Because for me there is no other.

Just enjoy life as one right now,

And I'll try to do the same somehow.

There's just too much you can give to the world

To waste it all just to wait for this girl.

Go do wonderful things and better yourself,

And I promise to be like a book on your shelf-

Not leaving with anyone until you remove me.

For who else can love me, hold me, and soothe me?

Who else can be such a wonderful gift from God,

And make my wishes come true without a blink or a nod?

So wait for me as I wait for you,

But don't waste life, for our days are few.
