Don't Forget This Christmas Time
We are the lucky few

Cold chills and windy nights
Snow trying hard to settle
British breeze and Cups of tea
An ever boiling kettle
Kids running, wild and free
Counting down the days
Tired parents, giving up
Those weeks become a haze
Lots of spending and time too
Time becomes not enough
The lonely ones I feel for now
This time of year is rough
Singing songs and bright lights
The atmosphere is everywhere
Lots together, some love it all
Some, don't really care
Family time and puddings galore
Chocolate and lots of treats
Candy canes and golden coins
Puds and lots of sweets
Turkeys and spinach, Brussel sprouts
Don't forget the Vegan dinners too
Laughter and wobbly thighs
We always pile it on (we should sue)
The ones that drink, the ones that don't
The ones that have too much
The ones that hit, the ones that hurt
The ones that stay out of touch
Not cheer for all, heartache for some
But a season to be grateful
Families and friends, if you're the lucky few
Not to be surrounded by the hateful
Mistletoe and wine on repeat
We all get sick of that song
But while we moan, we laugh and joke
As we can't help but sing along
Spoilt kids and adults too
Those that can, go over the top
Emptying the aisles in every store
Filling up every shop
Remember to be grateful this year though
And don't leave others troubles behind
For those alone, on the streets and orphaned too
Love those this Christmas Time
Thank you for reading my poem. This was written with sorrow for all of those that are alone at this time of year. If you could find it in your hearts to click to heart but instead of donating to me, please donate to Crisis.
They take donations at this time of year to help the homeless at Christmas. Every little helps.
