Dude.

.Neo.I.love.you

By Kayleigh TaylorPublished 4 years ago 2 min read

I love you. I know that we don't talk much anymore but every memory I have of you will stick with me like superglue:

Falling asleep in my Simpsons sleeping bag on your floor and awaking at 3am to you STILL watching YouTube or playing video games

Chasing you around the room with a nerf gun screaming,

Come here dude

These are just SOME of the memories I have of you

I love you so so much. As you grew you may have grown apart from all of those things, but you were becoming a young adult and you didn't want to do things with me anymore because you were growing up.

I vividly remember whenever we were driving down a slope and my stomach would go funny, you turning back at me and saying:

Aww are you ok?

I would reply with a soft

mhm

And you would give a little laugh and turn back around...

I remember asking my nan, your mum,

Can I wake dude up today?

And, if she said yes, I would rush right into your bedroom and start shouting:

Come on come on come on dude get up now come on...

I remember 5th of September 2020 being one of the worst days of my life...You were going to Norway...as I ran out to give you a hug I remember saying

Don't you forget me ok?!'

and handing you a note I had written to you. After handing you the note, I ran inside and played my game. You walked in and sat next to me and I started crying. It was horrible. I remember having only 2 or 3 to 4 hours sleep because I was up crying missing you. Even now I still listen to music that reminds me of you and I start bawling. I need you here Neo. I always will...

I...Love...You.

This extra special piece of writing was written by my 11 year old Daughter Shelby. She has taken a memory of love, heartache and emotion and turned it into an extraordinary poem from her heart.

Please if you support and enjoy my work and profile, I'd appreciate some love. If you're feeling extra generous, a tip would be the perfect early Christmas gift.
