Don't Cut Your Hair

Messy Souls poem

By Brittany FenwickPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

They said don't cut your hair,

The boys like it long.

Don't dye your hair,

They prefer you a blonde.

Don't wear baggy clothes,

They don't fit you right.

Even with curves,

Guys like them tight.

Be careful how often you have takeout for dinner,

The boys preferred you when you were much slimmer.

Don't wear too much makeup,

That's deceptive you see.

Boys like perfection,

But they want it naturally.

Now don't get me started on all the makeup training.

You need to look good,

But don't keep them waiting.

Do you wonder why girls are so insecure?

Listen to these standards,

Who are they for?

Can we please do away with these ridiculous games,

Why should girls have this in their brains?

Let them flourish in whatever they choose,

A woman's body does not exist to please you.
