There's No Place Like Home

By Bre ValentinePublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Come with me, my peculiar friend,

To a place I never thought I’d see again.

I traverse these grounds often in the land of dreams,

But it’s been years since I’d been in the presence of the real thing.

Here, nestled amongst the pines, I got my start,

Cradled by the evergreens when I was young at heart.

I danced with the tulips and swayed in the glades,

Dined with the fireflies and beneath clouds we played.

The hills roared with laughter and songs rode on the storms,

The leaves waltzed while the sun gave its warmth.

Tell me, friend, what treasures has your heart stored?

Have you ever gazed upon a beauty such as this?

You’ve traversed the depths of the galaxy,

Is this all there is?

Even if that is so, I am happy to call this place my home.
