i was swimming along like i usually do,

upside down

so i could see the world from a different view

the sunlight leaks through the water

from the sky above

and all i could think about was how much i love :

the coral down low, colored pink, orange, & blue

the baby seal swimming by, so precious & new

the kelp on the surface, just floating by

the clouds skudding along in the big bright sky

riding a current, and how that’s a thrill

going too far north and getting a chill

the lone turtle gently gliding along

the sounds of the whales & their beautiful songs

the surfer up top as he paddles for waves

the fish down below darting in & out of caves

and all the while as i swim upside down

no one i pass is wearing a frown

nature poetry
