Doctor, Doctor

social commentary, stream of consciousness

By Paul StewartPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Mud diving, the greatest of endeavours, the insight one finds, when deep in the muck, is indispensable.

knee-deep, fancy-free-form dip beyond, in the abyss of it all,

the fake out, bug out,

you dirty little stop out

just get out get out

)as way of notes of my proem(

and now

)sounds the tones of my home(

for my next trick

)through the steno of my tome(

by the grace of

)stand at the onset of my roam(

intellectualism

)fine wire, the seton of my comb(

and

)set a marking stone of my Rome(

good stock, old chap

I shall mount

an attack on the

good intentions

of the less fortunate

coveted attack

call to employment

or deployment

disabled?

not a problem

not ours anyway

three cheers to the naysayers, backstabbers, name callers

Doctor, Doctor I feel trapped in the liminal space between where I am and where I want to be.

That's such a good description of where we reside, that liminal space.

Crikey! That’s a mind bender, Paul! There is certainly a lot of mud and mire one can dive in these days!

Mud diving imagery - yes a lot to learn down there lol. Those last lines are powerful too.. like we have all uttered them at sometime..perhaps silently to ourselves. Fascinating work Paul!!

Paul, is it bad that I immediately sang, "Doctor, doctor, give me the news. I've got a bad case of loving youuuuuu?"

Once again for a stream of consciousness poem this was quite creative with every other line.
