My skin feels ashen,
dry as winter corn
abandoned in the fields.
-
Even a subtle brush of my fingertips
sends flakes falling to the floor –
Chunks of my flesh.
-
Can you see it?
-
The mirror giggles with glee,
and I wish my watch
were The Timekeeper.
-
They call me crazy,
Unbalanced,
as I peel off the past
with bitten nails.
-
Do you see it?
