Do you feel?
the gentle numbness
that covers the day
like the calm before the storm
like im stuck there forever
without falling
im so thankful
for the numbness
for allowing me to hold my breathe for once
and not be so alive as I always am
always feeling things from miles away
the chaos of it all screams on
ive chosen now to be still
some pray when they kneel
some pray with words and songs
and incense and chanting
and God, would you mind
if I was just quiet for a little while?
