Hands shake. Breathing halts. Eyes lack confidence in their gaze.
Body quakes. Time stops. Feet plant in place.
Glances back and forth. Don't come off too strong.
Does he feel this, too? Maybe I got it wrong.
Hot heat at my cheeks. Abort. Abort! Get back!
Met his gaze quick one last time- but wait, what's that?
His eyes stay locked. His lips in grin. He feels it too.
Stay. Don't go. He's looking. I don't know what to do.
I inch closer. As does he. We meet half way real slow.
Can't find the words. He finds them first. A soft, but firm 'Hello.'
I squeak back. Timid. In fear of sounding lame.
'Hello' I said. Then giggled. We would never be the same.
My heart met his and off they went. Together as one to beat.
Love before touch. Love at first sight. Can happen if you believe.
