Actions speak louder than words
Why are we failing with promises?
Why is it so easy to let someone down?
I am a follow it through kinda girl
I will not rest on my laurels
I will see it through
Coming across too many
Not paying attention
Not helping or even offering to
I will not stand aside and see suffering
Knowing that they have tried everything
No glimmer of hope coming their way
Where there is a will there is a way
Turning a blind eye is not my style
I will seek a resolution
I will be the light and strength
I will do and deliver

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
