Divided

There once was a country that was free and true.

It’s flag was respected and proudly flew colors of red, white, and blue!

It’s people stood united no matter with whom one sided.

They helped one another without seeking something other than a warm “thank you” or a “how do you do!”

It wasn’t about race or fortune and fame,

We were so much more than a political game.

Now we’re all chess pieces laid out on a board,

And the elites already know how they’re going to score.

We’ve became a nation divided, and along the way decided,

To care more about “Facebook” than learning to cook.

We stay glued to “TikTok” instead of taking a walk.

We care more about fixing our hair for the next video we will share,

than we do about how we can become a better me and a better you.

Differences used to be praised, but now we’ve all become so enraged

Discussions become disagreements and disagreements become a filed grievence.

We’re no longer willing to learn and listen

We’ve turned straight cursing and dissing.

We say we want to help one another, but not if our values don’t align.

We don’t even care that our nation is dying.

It’s time to wake up and take a stand!!

We cannot let them take our promised land.
