Drowning in the crashing waves,

choking on a lure.

Screams muffled by the water,

beneath the glowing sun.

***

The lifeblood on the ocean’s floor

swim beautifully in darkness.

Complete, ephemeral they shine,

regardless of your presence.

***

Salty breezes stir the clouds

churning up a cyclone.

There, Poseidon looks like me,

reflected in the tumbling beat

***

of a restless heart.

Tears shimmer on the rising tide;

I fly above the sea.

You'll no longer see me ugly-cry;

***

Instead, you'll paddle in my steady wake;

listen as the Siren sings.

Thanks for reading! Have you seen the brilliant power of the ocean?
