The distraction lets the danger right in!

Did you see the man?

In the doorway, hiding.

She didn't, you see

Talking on her phone.

Rushing home.

A silent figure, watching and waiting,

Cunningly planning,

Trying to reach her

Inclined to violence,

Only focused on his prey

Now she's not got much to say.

heartbreak
