Love is not always the same,
It can be easy,
it can be difficult.
Easy love is smooth,
like a downstream river,
a waterfall, flower meadow
winter sun, summer shade.
Nourishing to
body, mind,
spirit, and soul,
no ounce of foul.
But difficult love?
It’s complex, toxic,
stinky, and swampy,
hard to navigate.
Why is it so?
It’s conflicting,
It’s obligation, and duty,
to be fond of someone,
to show affection,
but is too much
monkey business,
to handle, to ignore,
and constant repairs.
A lot of effort
goes into that love,
the return is nothing
energy draining,
does not serve,
the purpose of nourishing.
In difficult love,
you feel relief
when the relationship shatters,
or life ends.
Hold on to easy love,
It’s not guaranteed,
life situations keep changing—
but as long as we’re ready,
to correct our ways,
it’s a treasure.
