Didn’t We

Salvaged From Pain

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

I wear your brokenness like fashion

Suffering your love earned me the right

Replaced the pieces with compassion

Battle scars, won in the fight

Beautiful marks, reveal the battle

A badge of honor, worn with pride

Up loves creek, without a paddle

The strength builds me up inside

Porcelain patches provide protection

It’s soft smooth texture offers calm

Picturing a new face and reflection

A shore of shelter from the storm

Scarcely escaping loves deception

A fine line fracture, exposing flesh

Earthquakes sitting on fault lined perfection

Leaning on faith and nothing less

Witness the beauty that comes from pain

Cause it will never come again
