Did I Tell You Lately How I Love You

If not I am telling you just now

Did I Tell You Lately How I Love You

Did I tell you lately how I love you,

how your voice is the hush before dawn,

how your laughter lingers like golden light

long after the sun has gone?

Did I tell you that your touch

writes poetry upon my skin,

that every whispered word you speak

feels like home, so deep within?

Did I tell you that your presence

turns the ordinary divine,

that every heartbeat I have left

is yours as much as mine?

If I haven’t said it clearly,

if the words slipped past the day,

let me tell you now, forever—

I love you more than words can say.
