Did Anyone Tell “The Doctor”?

Josie Morris.

Everything seems to be quiet tonight. Even the wind that howled down my street only a few hours ago, seems to be a little subdued now somehow. “The Doctor” has an air of tender reassurance for my city, yet this feels even more prevalent tonight. Within a few hours all has fallen unusually quiet, on what would normally be a balmy, summer Sunday night. There is not much more making a sound than our mad & most welcomed “The Doctor’s In” gusts.

“The Doctor” whispers to me in whimsical blowing that buffers my ears, as I sit, small, under the Milky Way. I find myself thinking how this very same silence must have taken place in many other towns & cities throughout my beloved nation. And then, further, how this very same silence has befallen on so many places, so many towns, in so many cities throughout the world.

“The Doctor” breezes with ruffles through my hair & I sit, small, under the Milky Way & I wonder if everywhere else fell as quiet in just a few hours. Did anyone tell the “Trade Winds” or “The Abroholos” or “The Nor’ easter” or “The Brickfielder” that most of the humans just have to stay in? For around my place everything seems to be unusually quiet tonight, save for the winds for now, for it is certain that no one has told “The Doctor”.
