Diamonds Are Just Stones
You are worth much more than, your my breath my heart

Diamonds Are Just Stones
They all want sparkle
proof in a box
rings to parade
love dressed in locks
But I don’t need glitter
or things that shine
I’ve got your hands
and your time
They chase bright things
like magpies do
but I wake up
and I’ve got you
You don’t ask
you just know
where the quiet lives
where I go
They call it wealth
they name their price
but you bring calm
and heat and spice
Diamonds? Please
they’re just stones
cold, polished
lined in thrones
I’d take your laugh
your stubborn ways
your coffee talk
your sideways gaze
No gem can hold
what you’ve begun
you’re not my prize
you’re the only one

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
