destroy my notebooks when I’m gone, please dear
Sonnet 6
Look at my capacity to love you!
It drowns me, I’m floating, gasping for air,
hometown lovers, growing up left to do,
knew true love was special, no clue how rare
you, muse who hates a spotlight, I promise
I tried, fought my desk and threw out my pen,
late for work, lost in those lips I still miss,
are you still coming back? Please tell me when
you woke my soul, I’ve not slept since then,
seeking closure somewhere lost still mending,
finding a new love, my heart pretending,
keeping us alive with ink from my pen
married to my stories, you’re always here,
destroy my notebooks when I’m gone, please dear.
