Departure
The Silent Passage Between Life and What Comes After
A breath held quiet, the air turns thin,
The night bows low, where shadows begin.
A clock slows down, its ticking fades,
The now dissolves, as silence invades.
--
A final glimpse at stars untied,
No questions left, no need to hide.
The world goes on, no whispers shared,
An empty space, yet no one cared.
--
Yet in that quiet, where stillness reigns,
A spirit shifts, released from chains.
For death’s not loss, but passage through,
A doorway crossed, to something new.
--
So grieve not long, nor fear the shift,
The heart finds peace in the silent drift.

This was atmospheric and ethereal almost.
Nice!❤️
Departing is such sad news, but you described it so well. Good work.
I loved this one. The rhyme scheme made it soft. Beautiful!
