Demons

The world is aflame with hatred and grievance,

fear of professors and experts,

Statesmen, scientists, teachers, writers—

anyone who can reason.

For decades, the blockheads have blocked improvement,

and thrown their sabots in the works.

Now, surging on waves of regression,

they raze the foundations beneath us,

Brandishing chainsaws, delighting in demo,

like satyrs romping round Satan.
