Demons and Darlings

Distinguishing

By Rowan Finley Published 7 years ago 1 min read

What kind of lies are you believing?

What kind of thoughts are you perceiving?

Who's coercing your hand to do that thing?

Who's the one, who, another lie, will surely bring?

Be careful what you watch my darling dear,

because it could be the doorway that will steer,

you down deep, dark paths of destruction,

that only lead to the saddest kinds of eruption.

Darling, gird your mind with Truth from on High,

so that you will not believe each and every lie,

trust me, when the demons come at you, you'll thank me,

just wait, because it won't be long before you'll see.

For they hate with the hottest hate known,

and they know you better from others who have shown,

that mankind is fickle and flighty,

and we are often times everything, but mighty.

But, put on the armor that is spiritual,

sing songs that are like warrior chants and that are lyrical,

holding your sword in hand,

always grounded and ready to take your stand.

Dare devils die when the Truth is made known,

this victory is from the seed of faith that is homegrown,

being always ready, in season and out,

to give a loud victorious war cry shout!

This one’s got that epic, battle-ready vibe! Feels like it should be read with a drumbeat in the background and a storm brewing.
