DELETING DREAMS

TAMING PAIN...

By Wendy - Empathic TigressPublished 4 years ago Updated 4 years ago 1 min read
Bound to Troubles', Past

Beyond the pomp and finery,

Beneath a spotlight, blue,

The puppeteer's painted baby,

Shimmered like morning dew.

She's nobody's saint or angel,

Nor, is she perfectly sweet,

A crown of stars upon her head,

And golden bells upon her feet.

*

A girl that nobody wanted,

Had returned to take the stage,

To blind the eyes that terrorised,

And remind them of her rage.

Not her time to give redemption,

She amused them with her charms,

Deleting dreams that broke her bones,

Was her constant call to arms.

*

The echoes of dark memories,

Kept her bound to troubles', past,

She wandered in secret spaces,

Casting spells she'd longed to cast.

Upon the grave of broken dreams,

She laid a wreath of lost esteem,

Within her mind, she conjured rhyme,

To weave a web of borrowed time.

*

Once pronounced a roofless wretch,

Bound for hell in judgements' grasp,

She hurt too deeply to forget,

Concealing fear, behind a mask.

Her mistress led her into chains,

Behind the citys' gilded cage,

Lost in schemes of empty dreams,

Taming her pain upon life’s stage.
