THE MUSIC OF LIFE
Beyond The Great Silence

There once was a time when the world was young,
When forests lay dormant and songs unsung
When creatures communed without any sound,
Beyond great silence, their answers were found.
*
First, there were birdsongs to soften men’s ears,
Then, there was Windsong to guide the man’s spear
The golden orb weaved to honor the day,
The silver moon hung in darkness, to pray.
*
The spirited seas breathed with such ease,
To the sweet voice of a peaceful breeze
Drums found their beat ‘neath ravenous skies,
Born of thunder, and fear of the night.
*
If I were blind I’d not lose my mind,
I’d walk with calm, my hearing refined
Natures' sweet song, the music of life,
Sings to my soul, to comfort my strife.
