Deceptive Vision

Beyond the surface

Seeing is believing—

Seeing is believing.

If truth is what the eyes see,

Then I might be blind.

Eyes are the window to the soul,

Yet I can’t see through the glass—

Through the mask.

Oh, pitiful eyes of mine,

How many lies have you fallen for?

Victim of human masks,

Victim of illusions,

Tired and worn, deceived by every glance.

If my eyes can’t see through deceit,

What shall I turn to?

I’m just an existential wanderer who happened to stumble into poetry. I think about writing more than I actually write—not the best poet, but trying to get better, word by word, as I share my thoughts and voice.

These eyes deceive us, and we fall for it.
