Death's Shadow

A Poem

By Chris ArmstrongPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

My life is filled with hardship and I've many regrets,

My sorrows do encumber me more than most expect,

The problems grow within me like a quickly spreading cancer,

And I'd forgotten that life has so few easy answers,

In the end I have a choice, a funeral and a casket,

Or to simply be reduced to a pile of ashes,

People don't see it but my soul is bleeding,

And some day the heart in my chest will stop beating,

Yes some day death will come, and he will set me free,

As he tells a tale as old as time of an eternity.
