Death
is the shadow of winter—
a soft, lingering ache,
COLD and BLUE,
melding with the hushed silence of white.
*
I wear DEATH,
if you must understand,
my chilled fingers tracing its curve
until it chills further
and murmurs my NAME
to the wilting flower.
*
Yet, I am bound to LIFE—
this land,
this vessel,
this pulse,
this glowing scar that BEATS with existence.
*
Death,
each night,
takes root inside ME.
Each morning,
its spectral KISS lingers,
brushing my LIPS.
*
In its unyielding grasp,
I feel the eternal—
a transformation,
a yielding to the creator,
as my mortal flesh SLIPS away.
*
Life clings tightly still,
throwing itself against my companion,
death,
for countless YEARS.
*
And I,
forever suspended,
find myself trapped
in their quiet struggle

This poem really captures the deep struggle between life and death in such a vivid way.
You are soooo beautiful!! Your writing is so wonderful as it always is!!💗😭
This was interesting
Wow such a deep and symbolic poem. Love how you describe death here. Excellent writing.
I love the idea of death as transformation, not an ending. It is a beautiful, though painful kiss. This is one poignant poem, Komal!
Beautifully written <3
All of us in the same trap are better off because you are bound here. ⚡💙⚡
I would have never thought bringing nature into my dark writing like this. I can appreciate the sensory through these words. BEAUTIFUL!
I’ve read a few things today and thought that feels similar to Nosferatu, the movie I saw a few nights ago. Obviously there’s a lot going on here, but the feel of the piece I like a lot! Beautifully handled Komal! Hope you have a great day. 😊
Very well written dear ☺️
I love the cover pic for this piece!
Very heavy poem. 🖤
What inspired this one?
Love the darkness of this piece Komal!! So drawing and well written!! Great work!
This excellent writing. Well done
Stunning writing Ko! You're beyond gifted! 💕💖
Truly a masterful exploration of the themes of mortality and vitality.
Such a dark, but loving poem. I love how you formatted it, and how the words flow. It's beautiful.
A well-wrought meditation in poetic form on the nature of transformation; the nature of nature! Death is no end to life, only a change of form, but it is in raging against the dying of the light, as one poet said, that we create the most meaningful eternity.
Amazing totally Amazing ✍️🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
Wow, love this! Great job. Last thing I read for you had a great sense of balance between humor and tension— this has a flawless sense of balance between hope and inevitable loss. True to life, stark and melancholy without being over the top depressing. This is solid all around. I especially like the ending on this one too, the conveyed sense of being trapped, in a kind of tug of war between life and death is a powerful image.
Mesmerisingly haunting. Wow, I just love how you describe almost like… a relationship with death, a sensual connection. Because it’s always there, it’s always lingering, so much so that we almost… want to make peace with it, so not to be as afraid Oh I am just blown away 🤯. Outstanding work as usual sis 👌🏽👏🏽♥️🤗
Death's inevitable! What a great poem, Komal 👏 The tension and warmness at the same time? Brilliant work ✨
I truly loved the darkness here, it was very relatable. You have written this soooo beautifully!
Wow, this is outstanding poetry, how we all wrestle with death in our lives. Its a trap waiting for that moment
