We all die one day

Our lives are a precious gift

The details are in our lease

We entered into a contract

Before our worldly appearance

It said nothing about

life without perseverance

*

Once our life's contract was signed,

We inadvertently made a plea deal–

When that day comes, we can't ask for more time

In exchange for an opportunity to grace this earth

Equipped with the ability to live a comfortable life

*

Some of us may not want to die

But it's the ultimate price we pay for being alive

Make the best of what this world has to offer

But remember, when that lease is up

You can't trade your life in for another

...
