Dear You

💛

By Colleen WaltersPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

I feel the fatigue as you pull out a smile and put it on

I smell the sweat of fear and doubt as you try to suppress it

I defend you in rooms where you are not present

I know the weight you carry as you profess that you're "good."

I see the unseen forces that tug at your mind, will and emotions

I hear the tracks of the tears that try to drown you in the quiet

I speak prayers for you when I hear whispers in the darkness

You are

More precious than gold or silver

More brilliant than diamonds

A kaleidoscope of all things good

I get it

I got you

I will

fill the lamp with oil and send the light out

I will

tie a rope around an ancient olive tree, tie a smooth pebble to it and throw it to you.

Where you are

Amen.

🩵

"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV

Oh, this is a balm and a blessing! He sees the tear before it falls, hears the prayer before it’s spoken, and walks into every darkness with us carrying the light. 💖

This is so powerful. It really hits home how we all carry unseen burdens. We should support each other like this more often.
