Dear Roosevelt island

It’s been too long.

Truth is I think about you sometimes when I brush my teeth.

My life is different since we last saw each other.

I’m older and more jaded

Ha!

Yeah I can’t believe it either.

I still love bourbon.

But I never drink coffee.

I sleep on the same side of the bed.

But I don’t wear Docs anymore.

Last time I was in New York, I’m sorry we didn’t catch up.

But you know why, memories.

I gave up a few things but lent only lasts so long.

You know how it goes.

So dearest Roosevelt Island, remember this; a lot of things can change, but most stay the same.

Remember insane asylums and sunshine.

Remember free wifi and chain bought coffee.

Remember dental floss and cable cars.

And remember I think of you sometimes when I brush my teeth.
