Dear Mickey Mouse
For “Dear Fictional Hero” unofficial challenge
Dear Mickey Mouse,
I know, I know it’s super strange and maybe also a tinge of embarrassing that an adult is actually taking the time to write to you, but this is something I just gotta say.
Now, Mickey, I remember all those years you made me happy and infused my life with fantastical joy and hope. You beautified my world in a way nobody else was ever able to. (Mainly because you’re not real and all that.) Mickey, I thank you profoundly for all those years of light you shed but now…
Now I’m grown, grown in this thing called the “world” and within this thing called “life.” Now since you’re not alive and never experienced this thing called life, allow me to educate you a bit. This life? It’s rock solid tough. Sometimes, it seems all its task is to get in every way possible. It’ll stab you, hurt you, destroy you, rip you, tear you, burn you…
Mickey, you no longer make me happy! Help me, Mickey! Help me like you’ve done all those years ago! Where is your innocent light? Where has your pure joy been buried beneatg? Know, Mickey, that every day anew, I think of your joy and all the memories of my youthful mind and I yearn for it all over again.
So that’s what I want to say, Mickey. That I remember you every day and hope for a day that such simple happiness can infuse with joy too and help me rise and believe in myself.
Goodbye for now Mickey! May you continue to make children and happy and spread light of only purity and innocence throughout the entire world in all different languages including that of the heart!
Sincerely,
Rachel

Pull at my heart strings, Rachel! There are so many characters I wish I could tell how much they really meant in my childhood. Amazing take on the challenge!
