Dear Mama:

You may be gone

And you will be missed

But I will carry your heart

With every drip…

As long as I have the space to make it fit.

I had so much left to say…

Yet the words just want to dance and play!

You meant the world to me…

If only you were able to see…

How you brightened my darkest days…

As your loving voice made a way.

Every action you took was to show your love

Filled with a spirit that came from above…

So warm and gentle, like a peaceful dove.

And although my chest may ache…

And, grief may have its take…

I refuse to eat from sorrow's plate…

Because the love you showed…

Was my great escape!
