"Dear Life: A Poetic Journey of Love, Loss, and Lessons"

"Reflections on Life's Beauty and Struggles Through Poetry"

By Charles NwitePublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Dear Life,

How strange it is to write to you, my dear,

To pour my heart out, and to make it clear

That you, my life, are the one I address

With all my feelings, hopes, and duress.

You've been with me from the start,

Through every beat of my heart.

You've taken me on a journey, wild and free,

And shown me all the beauty that can be.

But you've also brought me pain and strife,

Made me question the meaning of life.

You've taken loved ones, and left me alone,

And sometimes I wonder, why I'm still on my own.

Life, you're an enigma, a puzzle to solve,

A journey that can never be resolved.

You're filled with twists and turns, and unknowns,

A tapestry of laughter, tears, and groans.

Sometimes, I feel like I'm just a pawn,

In your grand scheme, playing along.

Other times, I feel like I'm in control,

Making my own choices, as I go.

Life, you've taught me to be strong,

To keep moving, no matter how long.

You've taught me to cherish the ones I love,

And to give thanks for blessings from above.

So, my dear Life, I write to you today,

To say thank you, in my own way.

Thank you for the highs and the lows,

Thank you for the lessons, and the blows.

I'll keep walking this path, wherever it leads,

Knowing that you'll be there with me.

And though there may be times of strife,

I'll trust in you, my dearest Life.

Sincerely,

CHARLES NWITE
