Dear Internet Girl
My first poem

Dear Internet girl
Dear internet girl,
Surfing the web, I was just daydreaming
When accidentally,
I came and found you while you were streaming
The moment we met,
I saw you and you were there just beaming
Your in front of me,
No, It couldn’t be I must be dreaming
Dear internet girl,
Most people just see your beautiful face
But your more than that,
books have more meaning than the bookcase
Your brain is a jewel,
More precious than gold and full of grace
Most never see it,
The best part of you is not your case
Dear internet girl,
I didn’t come here only looking for love
I may be alone,
Looking like Brad Pitt I may fall short of
But I have pluses,
My heart is real and pure white as a dove
I can be your king,
You will be the queen I always dreamed of
Dear Internet girl,
I present you girl with my total heart
Vulnerable I stand,
The pain from your past hits just like a dart
But I am not them,
I can be there for you and do my part
I will not push you,
To fast we will go slow from the start
Dear Internet girl,
My life changed that day I fell in your stream
No matter what happens,
I can say I met the girl of my dreams
I am so so blessed,
To have met you and have you in my life
If you don’t want me,
It will be okay, there will be no strife
You should be happy,
I wrote this poem and gave it my whirl
So I could tell you,
How I feel about my internet girl
Poetry by Philly
Behind the poem:
I wrote this poem in 2020. It was my first poem that I have written. I wrote it for a girl I met online and she broke my heart the day I finished writing it. I still shared it with her after she gave me the news. It was her poem - no matter what the outcome - so she deserved to hear it. Today she is still in my life and someone I consider one of my best friends. So even though nothing romantically came out of that poem - 2 great things did. First, I found out that I enjoyed writing poetry and I wasn't that bad at it. And Secondly, I gained a best friend.
Don't be scared to share your feelings or be afraid to pick up a pen and paper and start expressing yourself. The outcome may not be what you desired, but something greater may be in store and come out of it.
