Dear insomnia,

.

I am sorry

That you’ve never known the pleasure

Of full 8 hour sleep.

A nap a midst your leisure.

A dream, vivid and deep.

.

I am sorry that you’ll never

Wake up past 10 am.

It is a sad endeavour

To try and know you can’t

.

Dear insomnia,

.

I am truly sorry

But why all nightfall long,

You wonder quite and sturdy,

My awakeness you prolong.

.

At 1 am

You make me think

Today, tomorrow on my brain

.

At 2

I toss and kick,

But old mistakes, come into mind again

.

It’s 3am!

I am still awake!

Headspace is my last hope

.

Now 4

So tired I can not cope

Soon, I will sleep, I am sure

.

At 5

I hear birds song

Just as i am drifting off

And sunrise won’t be in too long

...

.

At 6 i finally sleep

My body slack and warm

I dream of fields with million sheep

Until my 8 am alarm.

.

So, miss insomnia,

Trust me, I know

That life without a rest

Is hard, so you r depressed

.

But dear insomnia,

Here’s a request:

Leave us, humans, out

Of your cruel, sadistic jest.
