Dear George

God, how I miss you

I miss your soft smile and your infectious laugh

I miss your warmth, your kindness, and your heart

I miss the way you could make me feel calm and electric

All at once

I miss your unfaltering loyalty

I miss your touch

When we first met

I was struggling for air

Trapped under the crushing weight

Of a loveless care

But like the chaos of the sea

You sent vibrations

Running through me

A supercharged magnetic energy

A throbbing heartbeat

You set me free

Thump, thump, thump

My heart beating faster

Thump, thump, thump

Our bodies moving closer

Do you remember that night

We counted stars

We drank cheap wine

The world was ours

Our cold, prickled skin

Tinted blue

Nothing else mattered

Just us two

Silver lights shimmering

Against the black sky

Intoxicating love

A pulsating high

Thump, thump, thump

My breath getting heavier

Thump, thump, thump

Our bodies moving together

If someone told me from the start

That I'd be the one to break your heart

That it would be my actions

That tore us apart

I wouldn't run

I wouldn't hide

Because falling in love with you

Was worth every tear cried

The scolding anger

The gut-wrenching pain

The euphoric joys

The tormenting shame

I wouldn't change it for a minute

Because life was so much better with you in it

And now every time I look up to the stars

I whisper with both hands clutching my heart

I'm sorry, George

I miss you, George

I love you, George
