Dear Ex-Lover,

Time started again.

It’s been months since

I was last in your embrace.

And suddenly, I realize…

Time started again.

.

For a brief moment

We had no Alpha and Omega

Because time stopped.

And when time stopped,

We had always existed together.

.

When you were next to me

Your energy eclipsed everything

Outside of the now.

There wasn’t a time before you,

And there wasn’t a time after you.

We had always been.

No beginning.

No ending.

Only the lovely timeless middle.

.

Then, we were no more.

And…Time started again.

.

Now, here I am living

During the time after you.

Where you exist

Only in my thoughts,

Because you've become

Just a sweet memory.

.

Were you even real?

I fear you weren't real,

But only a waking dream.

.

And now, how I long for sleep,

Hoping that you’ll show up.

And even if only a dream...

You will feel real,

You will be real,

And you’ll be in front of me.

Where once again we can

Enjoy that timeless middle.

Where time will stop.

And where, for a little while longer,

You and I can exist indefinitely.
