Dealing Regret

Lookin' for Aces

I tossed a bill for fun, on the counter

to make a bet that was better unmade

Only then, did I notice the bouncer

**

Cleared my throat like a TV announcer

"Let it ride," I said, and sat down and prayed

I tossed a bill for fun, on the counter

**

Trying hard to avoid an encounter

I accepted a drink from the barmaid

Only then, did I notice the bouncer

**

"What's wrong?" she said, waiting for an answer

I said, "nothin', I don't like to get played"

I tossed a bill for fun, on the counter

**

He was wearing a tweed pair of trousers

As he approached me, I knew I'd been made

Only then, did I notice the bouncer

**

He smirked and whispered, "I like the doubters"

Taught me how cheaters are measured and weighed

I tossed a bill for fun, on the counter

Only then, did I notice the bouncer

Good job and still one must be careful and always notice the bouncer.
