A poem about addiction

This crack pipe,

This smack pipe,

it takes, it lies.

Curiosity reels you in

hides the truth behind.

Every day, life's a trial

unpredictable and wild.

Once so happy, contented

now you rarely smile.

Survival, trump's all else.

you weave webs of deceit.

You beg borrow and steal,

to keep the sickness beat.

addiction is a disease

it does not discriminate.

A wise man, pauper or king,

soon brought to his knees.
