Dawn of a new day

You've had a bad day and you want it to end

You're spouse divorced you and your heart needs to mend

The boss told you to get a new job

On the way home you can't help but frantically sob

You roll over in your bed wanting to die

Thinking about how badly you want to know the why

You consider picking up a gun and making it brief

But outside the window you see a dove with an olive leaf

You witness the sun as it's about to rise

And begin to see the light and open your eyes

Do not live the rest of your life in dismay

It's the dawn of a new day.
