Daughter of Lies

III: to my Lord and Savior

No matter how much I repent

I'll still be the brood of the serpent.

On the surface I'm a sheep

But I have dragons underneath

They keep fighting

And I'm spiraling

Bile in my lungs

Burning, burning

Told him I wanted to kill myself and he started laughing

She said if I married a girl, she wouldn't come to my wedding

Oh, if they only knew how much I could hurt them

But I'm too much of a coward to stop being a burden

I know I never asked for your help

But where were you?

You don't love me, you love the parts of me that remind you of you.

You say that he who is not against you is for you

For you, not with you

You can have your city

I don't need your pity

I won't be your slave, but when I'm with the enemy, I still don't feel free

I played the part of white as linen, the good daughter

Clothed by the lamb, but I have the heart of a viper

This role is getting old, I want them to suffer

Deep within, black like the tents of Kedar

If I was crucified with you, why do I still feel condemned?

You said it yourself, I'll never inherit your kingdom

So I'm leaving

I'm leaving

I love her, I love her

So if you put her

In the lake of fire

I'm drowning with her

Venom on my tongue

I'm spitting, I'm spitting

Venom on my tongue

I'm spitting, I'm spitting

On the surface I'm a sheep

But I have dragons underneath

They keep fighting

And I'm spiraling

Bile in my lungs

Burning, burning

I really enjoyed this. It was quite complex in its imagery and the complexity of human emotion that you portrayed.

  • Nicely done it. Liked your work.
