Darkness; My companion

In the stillness of the night,

I find solace in the dark,

With the stars as my only light,

And the shadows as my mark.

The darkness wraps around me,

Like a cloak of deepest black,

And in its embrace, I feel free,

To let my thoughts roam and slack.

It is in the darkness I find peace,

Away from the chaos and the noise,

Where my soul can find release,

And my spirit can rejoice.

The night is my sanctuary,

And the darkness my companion,

Together we journey,

Through the shadows and the canyon.

Though others may fear the night,

And the darkness that it brings,

For me, it's a source of delight,

And the peace that it sings.

So let the darkness come,

For I am not alone,

With it, I am at home,

And my soul is finally known.
